This full-day adventure combines a three hour jungle trek to a waterfall with about three hours as a passenger on an ATV, so you see the forest on foot in the morning and the countryside on wheels in the afternoon.

A van collects you from your hotel in Chiang Mai between 08:00 and 08:30 and drives you north to the base camp in the Mae Taeng area. The trek is about 1.6 km through the jungle to a 10 metre waterfall. There is a break at the waterfall so you can go for a swim, so it is best to change into your swimming attire at the camp before you start the hike. Along the way your guide points out plants, animals and some of the cultural aspects of Thailand, and you return along the same track. If you are a quick hiker and would like to go further past the waterfall, the guide can do that as well.

After the trek you climb on behind a driver for about three hours on the ATV, along dirt tracks, local roads and up to hillside viewpoints. You do not drive yourself on this trip, so no riding experience is needed.

Lunch, drinking water, tea or coffee, a towel set and insurance are included, and the guides and staff are trained in CPR and first aid. There are showers at the camp, so bring a dry change of clothes for the ride home. You are back at your hotel around 19:00.

Bookings open up to 180 days ahead; the latest date you can book is Wed 21 Apr 2027.
