The morning half-day visit is the classic short introduction to Elephant Nature Park, the sanctuary north of Chiang Mai that gives a home to rescued elephants living in their own chosen herds. It suits families, first-time visitors and anyone who wants to see the park but keep the afternoon free. Lunch is included, so you are back in the city with the day still ahead of you.

Pickup is early morning in Chiang Mai city and the drive north takes about an hour and a half. On arrival a park guide walks you through the sanctuary, introducing the elephants, telling their stories and explaining the park's no-riding approach. You watch the herd go about its morning, feeding, dust-bathing and interacting, from a respectful distance. At midday there is a vegan buffet lunch with Asian and international dishes, and at 1:00 pm you leave for the hour-long drive back, arriving around 2:00 pm.

Elephant Nature Park does not allow riding and the visit is about observing rather than handling the animals. Wear comfortable shoes, bring a hat and sunscreen, and keep luggage to one small daypack. Strollers are not allowed on site.

Bookings open up to 180 days ahead; the latest date you can book is Wed 21 Apr 2027.
